INDIAN prime minister Narendra Modi shares a rapport with most or all of the frontline world leaders and visuals coming from the G7 summit which just got concluded in Schloss Elmau in Germany proved it yet again.
The Indian prime minister, who attended the summit at the invitation of the German chancellor, was seen sharing light moments with top leaders including US president Joe Biden, French president Emmanuel Macron and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.

However, it was Modi’s tea-sipping moments with Macron at the G7 talks that has wowed netizens the most. “Chai pe charcha” (talks over tea), which has become a popular term in the times of Modi in India, became a buzzword once again after Asian News International tweeted a picture of the duo. G Kishan Reddy, India’s minister of tourism, called the Modi-Macron moment as “Chai Pe Charcha“.
Modi and Macron, who were seen greeting each other with a hug, ahead of the photography session, spoke while drinking tea and the picture along with reactions went viral in no time.
In 2015, less than a year after Modi became the prime minister, he was seen preparing tea for former US president Barack Obama when he visited India with his wife Michelle Obama to become the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations. The two leaders were seen speaking to each other alone in what was termed to be another high-profile tea session.
Here are some of the reactions Twitter saw to the tea session featuring Modi and Macron:
