Body discovered in abandoned Tesla
Authorities in Los Angeles have confirmed that a body found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd belongs to a missing 15-year-old girl. Police discovered the decomposed remains of Celeste Rivas, from Lake Elsinore, inside the vehicle’s trunk on September 8 at a Hollywood tow yard, after staff reported a foul odor.
Rivas had been reported missing since April 5, 2024, when she was 13, according to a missing person flyer cited by CBS.
Details from investigators
Police said the Tesla, carrying Texas license plates, had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills five days before it was towed to the impound lot. Officers believe it remained in the yard “for a couple of days” before the discovery.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported that the victim was about 5ft 2in tall, with wavy black hair, and was found wearing a tube top and black leggings. A tattoo reading “Shhh” was located on her right index finger. Law enforcement sources told NBC News the remains were not intact and suggested the girl had been dead for an extended period.
Both the cause and time of death are still undetermined.
Connection to D4vd
The car is registered to David Anthony Burke, the 20-year-old singer known as D4vd, who gained international recognition with viral hits Here With Me and Romantic Homicide. He released his debut album in April 2025 and was on tour when the remains were discovered.
A scheduled performance in Seattle was cancelled following the discovery. Police confirmed that D4vd is cooperating with the investigation.
