Yami Gautam calls husband Aditya Dhar's ‘Dhurandhar 2’ 'beyond extraordinary' after watching it

Actor Yami Gautam has shared her first reaction after watching Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the much-awaited sequel directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh. The film is set to release in theaters on March 19 and is already one of the most talked-about Indian movies of 2026.

Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, Yami confirmed that she has seen the film. She described it as “beyond extraordinary” and said it will be an experience that audiences will never forget.

There have been strong rumors that Yami has a cameo appearance in the sequel. However, she did not confirm or deny the speculation. When asked if any of her own films were releasing on March 19, she smiled and said that any important information about Dhurandhar would be shared by Aditya himself. She added that, like everyone else, she also has an “important appointment” at the movie theater that day.

Yami also spoke about her early connection to the film. She revealed that she first read the script while she was shooting for Article 370. Even though the script was only about 40 pages long at the time, it moved her deeply. She said she had tears in her eyes after reading it and struggled to find the right words to express how she felt. According to her, her emotional reaction said everything to Aditya.

After watching the final version of Dhurandhar 2, Yami said she was overwhelmed. She shared that she had to catch a flight that same day and could not immediately talk to Aditya about her feelings. She said she tried to read another script and even tried to watch something during the flight, but she could not focus. Instead, she found herself looking at the sunset outside the airplane window and thinking about what she would say to him after landing.

Yami praised Aditya’s dedication, saying that he truly loves his audience and the country. She added that he has given his life’s effort to make this film special.

The first film in the franchise, Dhurandhar, was a high-energy spy action thriller. It was produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The movie also featured actors Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.

While critics gave mixed-to-positive reviews, the film performed extremely well at the box office. It earned $156.6 million worldwide and became the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
