Jio Studios and B62 Studios’ Dhurandhar: The Revenge has made an explosive debut at the global box office, collecting an impressive $82.4 million worldwide during its extended opening weekend. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the high-octane spy-action sequel has set a new record for the biggest opening weekend ever for a Hindi-language film.
The film’s earnings were powered by exceptional advance bookings and packed theaters across multiple territories. Of the total global haul, approximately $59.5 million came from India, while overseas markets contributed $22.8 million. The United States played a significant role in the international performance, with strong turnout during Wednesday paid previews and sustained momentum through the weekend.
This record-breaking debut places the film just behind Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, which holds the overall Indian film opening weekend record at $92.5 million (including all language versions). However, Dhurandhar: The Revenge now stands as the top performer specifically among Hindi-language releases.
Domestically, the film shattered multiple benchmarks, including the highest advance ticket sales ever recorded for a Hindi film and the biggest paid preview collections. It also became the fastest Hindi release to cross $31.9 million in India alone, signaling unprecedented audience demand.
The film’s success highlights the growing global appeal of Hindi cinema, particularly in North America, where the U.S. market delivered one of the strongest openings for an Indian film in recent years. Premium formats and wide distribution contributed to sold-out shows in major cities.
With its strong start, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to maintain momentum in the coming days, potentially setting new lifetime records if current trends continue. The film’s performance not only reinforces Ranveer Singh’s box office dominance but also marks a significant milestone for Bollywood’s expanding international footprint.
