The long-awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada has officially unveiled its first trailer, and it wastes no time reminding audiences why the original film became a cultural phenomenon. Packed with biting humor, glamorous visuals, and beloved characters, The Devil Wears Prada 2 promises a stylish return to the ruthless world of high fashion.
One of the trailer’s most talked-about moments features Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, delivering a pointed eyebrow joke at Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, an exchange that instantly set social media buzzing.

Emily Blunt reprises her role as the sharp-tongued former magazine assistant Emily Charlton, while Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs, now established as the features editor at the fictional fashion bible Runway. Meryl Streep is back as the formidable Miranda Priestley, whose icy presence still dominates every room she enters.
In a twist that underscores Miranda’s supreme detachment, the trailer reveals that she has no memory of Andy ever working for her—despite having terrorized her throughout the first film.
Stanley Tucci also returns as Nigel, the magazine’s stylish creative director, offering wry commentary throughout the trailer.
The trailer opens on a red carpet scene featuring Miranda Priestley, set to Madonna’s iconic hit Vogue. In a voiceover, Nigel declares, “Runway. It’s not just a magazine. It’s a global icon. A winding road that brings us back. Together again.”
Andy is later shown walking back into the Runway offices, where Nigel greets her with a sarcastic quip: “Well look what the TJ Maxx dragged in.”
Miranda’s reaction is classic Priestley. Looking confused, she asks, “Sorry, who is this? Do you know her? Do I know her?”
The trailer’s closing moments bring Emily, Miranda, and Andy face to face. Emily reacts to the reunion by asking, “Am I having a hallucination?”
When Emily reminds Miranda that she and Andy worked at Runway at the same time, Miranda responds dryly, “Really? Where was I?”
She later delivers the line that has quickly become the trailer’s standout moment, telling Andy, “You’ve changed—you’re much more confident. Kept those eyebrows though, didn’t you?”
The jab perfectly captures the film’s signature blend of cruelty and comedy.
The sequel introduces several new cast members, including Sir Kenneth Branagh as Miranda Priestley’s husband. Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu also join the ensemble in newly created roles.
Directed once again by David Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 arrives nearly 20 years after the original film’s 2006 release. The sequel is set to premiere in theaters worldwide on May 1, promising fashion, fire, and plenty of unforgettable one-liners.
