A Justin Bieber impersonator has been banned for life from a Las Vegas resort after successfully tricking a nightclub crowd, headlining DJ Gryffin, and resort staff into believing he was the pop star. The incident took place over the weekend at the Wynn Encore’s XS Nightclub, where French lookalike Dylan Desclos was even allowed on stage to perform.

How the prank unfolded

Footage shared by DJ Gryffin on social media shows Desclos, dressed in sunglasses and a hoodie, arriving with an apparent “team” who convinced staff that Bieber wanted to perform. Gryffin recalled being told Desclos planned to sing Sorry, Bieber’s 2015 hit.

“Little did I know I was about to be sorry,” Gryffin wrote, sharing video of Desclos on stage as fans screamed and filmed what they thought was a surprise Bieber performance. Gryffin later admitted the dark venue and loud music made spotting the ruse more difficult.

The resort responds

In a statement, Michael Weaver, a spokesperson for the Wynn, described the deception as an “elaborate and multi-step ruse” orchestrated by Desclos and his team. Once staff realised the truth, Desclos was removed from the resort and handed a lifetime ban.

A familiar face for Bieber fans

Desclos, who is from France, has spent years impersonating Bieber at public events and online. His stunts have included staged appearances with hired “security” and posing for selfies with unsuspecting fans.

In 2023, he even caught the attention of Bieber’s wife Hailey Bieber, who reacted to a viral TikTok of him on a French train by writing, “I’m scared….”

Social media and reaction

Clips from the Las Vegas prank showed Desclos shopping with bodyguards and mingling with fans. While his Instagram and TikTok accounts now appear deactivated, he has posted about the incident on X, formerly Twitter.

Desclos has not publicly commented on the ban.
