Indian student brutally attacked in Australia after being told ‘f**k off, Indian’ over parking dispute

An Indian student, Charanpreet Singh, is recovering in an Adelaide hospital after being brutally attacked in a racially motivated assault that has sparked outrage across Australia and India. The 23-year-old suffered multiple injuries, including brain trauma and facial fractures, following a violent encounter with five men over a parking dispute. Attack in Central Adelaide

The assault took place on the night of Saturday (19), near Kintore Avenue in central Adelaide. According to reports by The Australia Today, Charanpreet Singh and his wife had parked their car near the venue where they had come to view the city’s light displays. Shortly after, they were surrounded by five men who allegedly jumped out of another vehicle and attacked Singh without any provocation.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the attackers armed themselves with objects resembling metal knuckles or other sharp tools. The assailants repeatedly punched and kicked Singh, leaving him unconscious on the street. Some of the attackers were caught on video shouting racial slurs, including "F*** off, Indian”, further intensifying the hate crime angle.

Charanpreet Singh was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for brain trauma and multiple facial fractures. Speaking to 9News from his hospital bed, Singh recounted the horrific moments, describing how what initially seemed like a minor argument over parking quickly escalated into a racially charged physical attack. “They just said, ‘F*** off, Indian,’ and after that, they just started punching,” he recalled.

South Australia Police have made progress in the case by arresting one of the suspects, a 20-year-old man from Enfield, within 24 hours of the attack.
