Pop icon Justin Bieber has finally addressed the growing speculation on social media linking him to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing sex trafficking case. As disturbing videos from more than a decade ago resurfaced, fans questioned Bieber’s past association with the hip-hop mogul. On Thursday, a representative for Bieber issued a statement to TMZ firmly denying that he was a victim.
“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the statement read. “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”
Bieber’s name trended online as old clips of him and Diddy — dating back to when the pop singer was just a teenager — reemerged. In the early 2010s, Diddy and Bieber made several joint television appearances and were seen together in online videos. One 2009 clip showed the pair standing outside a house, with Diddy telling Bieber, “As soon as you turn 16, I’m gonna let you rock this car.” He added that for the next 48 hours, Bieber would be with him to “go buck full crazy.”
A year later, in a 2011 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Diddy jokingly warned Bieber against discussing “things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television,” adding fuel to the speculative fire now reignited by Diddy’s high-profile legal troubles.
However, sources close to Bieber have clarified that these moments were “performative” and part of public appearances. According to TMZ, Bieber had no inappropriate relationship with Diddy and was never abused. While the two were seen together in public, Bieber primarily maintained friendships with Diddy’s sons, not the rapper himself.
Meanwhile, Diddy’s trial in New York continues to reveal harrowing allegations. On Friday, his former girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, returned to the stand for cross-examination. Her previous testimony included claims of rape, blackmail, and psychological abuse throughout their years-long relationship.
Ventura detailed the coercive nature of “freak offs,” sex parties allegedly orchestrated by Diddy, where she was forced to sleep with other men under the influence of drugs. She said she complied out of fear that Diddy would physically harm her or leak compromising footage.
During the trial, Diddy’s defense lawyer Anna Estevao presented explicit messages between Combs and Ventura discussing plans for one such party in March 2016. This led up to a documented assault in an InterContinental Hotel, footage of which was released last year showing Diddy kicking and hitting Ventura.
Diddy is facing a series of serious federal charges including sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy, linked to incidents that allegedly occurred between 2004 and 2024. He has pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations of misconduct.
As the trial continues, Bieber’s firm denial aims to refocus attention on the alleged victims who are seeking justice in one of the most explosive celebrity trials in recent memory.
