Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a case in the Delhi High Court over their late father Sunjay Kapur’s reported $3.6 billion assets. The siblings allege that their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, forged Sunjay’s will, wrongfully excluding them from his estate. The legal action comes amid ongoing disputes within the Kapur family following Sunjay’s sudden death.

Allegations of forgery

According to filings cited by Bar & Bench, Samaira and Kiaan claim that the will purportedly executed by Sunjay Kapur is “forged and fabricated”. They have asked the court to take action against their exclusion from the inheritance.

Defendants named in the suit

The defendants in the lawsuit include Priya Sachdev (also referred to as Priya Kapur), her minor son, Sunjay’s mother Rani Kapur, and the executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah.

Claims by Sunjay’s family members

Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has alleged she was compelled to sign papers while still grieving. His sister, Mandhira Kapur, also claimed that their mother was made to sign documents behind locked doors during the mourning period, without clarity on their contents. She has questioned why the family has not been shown the papers that were signed.

Karisma Kapoor’s position

Although Karisma Kapoor’s name has been linked to the inheritance dispute, a source close to the actress clarified earlier that she has “no involvement in any inheritance or property-related matters” and that her “only concern is the well-being and future of her children”.
