Papa John’s launches in India with four restaurants in Bengaluru

Adding a slice of excitement to Bengaluru, Tapan Vaidya, Group CEO, PJP Investments Group, along with actor, influencer, and content creator Danish Sait and senior officials from Papa Johns International, inaugurated the vibrant new Papa Johns outlet in Indiranagar.

Papa John’s, one of the world’s leading pizza brands, has officially entered the Indian market with four new restaurants in Bengaluru — located in Indiranagar, Hennur, Electronic City, and Sarjapur Road.

It is operated by master franchisee PJP Foods India Private Limited — a joint venture between PJP Investments Group and Ambrosia QSR. The launch marks a key milestone in the brand’s international expansion.

Each restaurant will be supported by a centralized Quality Control Center (QCC) in Hennur, where Papa John’s signature fresh, never-frozen dough is prepared daily to ensure uniform quality across all outlets. To mark the launch, the brand partnered with actor and comedian Danish Sait, who stars in a campaign video welcoming Papa John’s to India with humor and a regional touch.

“This is a proud moment for us as we bring the Papa John’s experience to Indian customers,” said Tapan Vaidya, Group CEO, PJP Investments Group. “Our pizzas are made with premium ingredients, fresh dough, and a commitment to consistent quality. Bengaluru is the perfect city to begin this journey, and we look forward to expanding rapidly across India.”

The launch menu features both global favorites and homegrown culinary innovations, including an exclusive Ghee Roast Pizza offered in chicken and paneer variants.

Papa John’s signature Special Garlic Sauce and a range of vegetarian and chicken pizzas are also available for dine-in and takeaway. Digital ordering via the app, website, and delivery platforms will soon be available.

“India is one of the most dynamic foodservice markets in the world,” added Ravi Thanawala, CFO and executive vice president at Papa John’s. “Opening both our first restaurant and a Quality Control Center establishes a strong foundation for long-term growth.”

Papa John’s entry into India combines its brand promise, ‘Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.’, with regional flavor innovations. This creates a premium yet accessible dining experience for Indian consumers.

“We are excited with our partnership with PJP to bring Papa Johns to this thriving market and present specially crafted pizzas to appeal to diverse Indian palate”, added Vish Narain, managing partner, Pulsar Capital & chairman, Ambrosia QSR. “Our endeavor would be to provide excellent quality pizzas at affordable prices.”
