A high-stakes thriller powered by a star cast
The trailer for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has finally arrived, lifting the curtain on one of the year’s most anticipated action dramas. Led by Ranveer Singh, the film features R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal, and marks the debut of former child actor Sara Arjun.
The film is described as being inspired by “real-life events,” centering on cross-border intelligence operations and the personal costs faced by officers on the front line.
A brutal opening sets the tone
The trailer begins with Arjun Rampal’s character delivering a chilling twist on former Pakistan President Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq’s infamous “thousand cuts” remark, setting up a narrative rooted in retaliation and covert warfare.
R Madhavan’s character is the first to enter the frame with impact, declaring that Pakistan must face consequences for sponsoring terrorism. His on-screen persona, Ajay Sanyal, dubbed the “Charioteer of Karma”, is introduced as a calm but formidable presence.
Akshaye Khanna follows as Rehman Dakait, known as the “Apex Predator,” before Sanjay Dutt appears as SP Chaudhary Aslam, ominously referred to as “The Jinn.” The final reveal belongs to Ranveer Singh, who emerges as the “Wrath of God,” delivering the trailer’s most forceful moments.

Performances and visuals spark fan excitement
The ensemble’s intense looks and character introductions have dominated online conversations. Ranveer’s rugged appearance has particularly caught attention, while Madhavan, Khanna, Rampal and Dutt are being praised for striking transformations.
Although the trailer avoids detailing specific real-world incidents, it clearly positions the film within the world of covert operations and national security, underscoring the dangers and sacrifices involved.
Fans react to the first look
Within minutes of the trailer’s release on YouTube, social media was filled with reactions. One viewer wrote, “The cast is on another level… Dhurandhar is going to shake the screens!” Another commented, “This is incredible! Kudos to Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh!”
The trailer’s first glimpse also drew comparisons to Sunny Deol, thanks to Ranveer’s line, “Main ghayal hoon, isiliye ghatak hoon,” which fans quickly picked up on.
Reports suggest the film is structured in two parts, and at a runtime of 185 minutes, Dhurandhar may become Ranveer Singh’s longest feature yet.
