Sony teams up with Bad Robot Games

Sony Interactive Entertainment announces a new partnership with Bad Robot Games to support and release the studio’s first internally developed project. The game, an unannounced four-player cooperative shooter, is directed by the studio’s chief creative officer Mike Booth, known for creating Left 4 Dead.

The title is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, with further updates to follow.

A project rooted in classic co-op gameplay

Booth first hinted at the game on Reddit in September, calling it a project “built on the foundations of what made Left 4 Dead special.”
He said players who enjoyed the teamwork, tension, and replayability of his earlier work will likely find the new game appealing, noting that it expands the co-op formula “in ways I’ve wanted to explore for a long time.”

Bad Robot Games outlines its vision

Bad Robot Games CEO Anna Sweet says the team aims “to deliver a bold, innovative experience” with its new IP. She adds that the partnership with Sony allows the studio to bring the project to life with a broad creative vision.

Sweet also highlighted Booth’s leadership, describing the upcoming title as a cooperative adventure designed to create “unforgettable moments with friends.”

Sony praises the studio’s approach

Christian Svensson, SIE’s VP and head of 2P/3P content ventures and strategic initiatives, says Sony is impressed by the talent assembled at Bad Robot Games.
He notes that the studio’s creative direction and commitment to innovation align with Sony’s goal of delivering experiences that connect deeply with players. “We can’t wait for gamers to step into the world they’ve been building,” he says.
