Shah Rukh Khan could be heading back to one of his most famous roles.

After Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3, fresh reports suggest that Khan is now in discussions to return as Don, a character he played in the second film of the franchise. Ranveer had earlier been announced as his replacement, but he quit the project late last year.

According to a report by TellyChakkar, Shah Rukh Khan is open to reprising the role — but only if one condition is met.

The report claims that Khan wants director Atlee, who worked with him on Jawan, to be associated with Don 3.

He is said to believe that Atlee’s involvement would raise the film’s scale and boost audience interest. However, there has been no final decision so far, and neither the makers nor the actors have made any official statement.

Why Ranveer Singh walked away

Ranveer Singh’s exit is linked to a shift in his career plans.

According to Pinkvilla, his priorities changed after the success of Dhurandhar. A source told the publication that Singh is now keen to work with filmmakers such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee.

The source added that he did not want to appear in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar had already placed him firmly in that space.
