Actress Kelley Mack, recognized for her role in the popular post-apocalyptic series The Walking Dead, passed away peacefully at the age of 33 in her hometown of Cincinnati. According to a statement on the social platform CaringBridge, she had been battling glioma, a type of tumor affecting the brain or spinal cord.
Born Kelley Klebenow, Mack was remembered as a bright and passionate individual whose light touched many. Her Instagram page shared a heartfelt message: “It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go.”
Friends, colleagues, and fans expressed deep condolences, reflecting on her talent and warm nature. Alanna Masterson, who also starred alongside Mack in The Walking Dead, wrote, “What an incredible human. So proud to have fought alongside her in our final episode together.”
Kelley Mack’s acting career spanned various roles in television and film, with 35 acting credits and five producing credits to her name. She was best known for portraying Addy in season 9 of The Walking Dead. Mack also appeared as Penelope Jacobs in season 8 of Chicago Med and had a role on FOX’s 9-1-1.
Beyond television, she was involved in commercial and voice-over work, featuring in ads for brands such as Dr. Pepper, Ross Stores, Dairy Queen, and Chick-fil-A. Her love for storytelling began early, inspired by receiving a mini video camera on her birthday when she was a child. This early spark grew into a successful career starting with acting in commercials.

Mack graduated from Hinsdale Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in cinematography from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in Orange, California.
She is survived by her parents Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow; her siblings Kathryn and Parker; grandparents Lois and Larry Klebenow; and her boyfriend Logan Lanier.
The statement from her family concluded, “Kelley’s legacy will live on through her contributions to film and television, and in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her talent, kindness and vibrant spirit.”
