Universal Studios, renowned for turning beloved film franchises into immersive entertainment destinations, is all set to make its debut in India. According to reports, the global entertainment giant is preparing to launch its first indoor theme park in the country by mid-2027.

The landmark attraction will be built inside Bharti Realty’s upcoming mega mall in Aerocity, near Delhi Airport, marking a major milestone in India’s entertainment and tourism landscape.

The planned indoor theme park will be the centrepiece of what’s being described as the biggest mall in India, covering an impressive 3 million square feet.

This massive mall is a part of a larger 17 million square foot urban development project in Aerocity, which is rapidly evolving into a high-end commercial and entertainment hub adjacent to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The Universal Studios park in India will span approximately 300,000 square feet within the mall and is designed to be an all-weather, indoor entertainment experience. Known globally for its cutting-edge rides, movie-themed zones, and immersive storytelling, Universal Studios’ newest venture aims to bring the same thrill and magic to Indian audiences.

From adrenaline-pumping roller coasters to interactive zones inspired by globally loved movie franchises like Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Minions, and Fast & Furious, the Indian edition promises a cinematic adventure tailored for all age groups.

Each of Universal’s parks across the globe—be it Hollywood, Osaka, Singapore, or Beijing—offers a unique spin on blockbuster storytelling through world-class attractions.

The India park is also expected to deliver a distinct experience, possibly incorporating local cultural and cinematic elements alongside Universal’s signature IPs.

What makes this upcoming theme park even more significant is its strategic location. Aerocity, situated in Gurugram on the Delhi border, is already well-connected via the Delhi Metro, national highways, and its close proximity to the airport.

This accessibility is expected to make the park a hotspot not just for Delhi-NCR residents but for domestic and international tourists as well.

This launch represents a huge step forward for India’s entertainment infrastructure and is likely to attract significant footfall, contributing to local tourism and the economy.

With Universal Studios planting its flag in India, visitors will no longer need to travel abroad for the famed Hollywood-style amusement park experience.

The indoor nature of the park also ensures year-round operations unaffected by seasonal weather changes—making it a consistent draw throughout the year.

Once operational, Universal Studios India is poised to redefine the leisure and family entertainment space in the country.
