From wedding celebrations to community support
Days after tying the knot with Rashmika Mandanna, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda has unveiled a scholarship scheme for students in Telangana.
The program will benefit Class 9 and 10 students across 44 government schools in the Achampet division of Nagarkurnool district. Introduced through the Deverakonda Charitable Trust, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that deserving students are not held back by financial constraints.
The announcement comes shortly after the couple’s February 26 wedding in Udaipur.
Rituals, village gathering and a viral moment
On Monday, the newlyweds performed their grihapravesham ceremony and the Satyanarayana Vratam puja at their new home in Vijay’s ancestral village of Thummanpeta in Telangana.
Following the rituals, Vijay took to the stage with his parents, brother and Rashmika to share details of the scholarship plan. The declaration was met with loud cheers from villagers in attendance, and a video of the announcement has since circulated widely on social media.
Around the same time, a photograph from their sangeet ceremony also drew attention online, with fans sharing images from the pre-wedding celebration held ahead of their Udaipur nuptials.
On March 1, the couple arranged for sweets to be distributed to fans across India. They were also seen attending the pre-wedding festivities of Allu Sirish in Hyderabad on Sunday.
According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to the March 4 reception in Hyderabad.
