Recent rumors suggesting that Deepika Padukone has been dropped from the much-anticipated film Kalki 2 due to alleged friction with co-star Prabhas and the production team have been categorically denied by sources close to the project.
Contrary to the speculative reports circulating online, these claims are “absolutely false” and have no basis in reality as per the sources confirmed.
To clarify the situation, Kalki 2 is currently in the pre-production phase and has not yet commenced shooting. As such, no filming has taken place, no sets have been constructed, and crucially, conversations with actors—including Deepika Padukone and Prabhas—have not even begun.
This means that the idea of any “on-set friction” is entirely unfounded since there has been no opportunity for the cast or crew to interact on set.
The false narrative appears to have gained traction following Deepika’s reported exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Reports suggested that Deepika stepped away from the project because she preferred fixed eight-hour shifts, a claim that sparked controversy.
Vanga’s subsequent cryptic tweets criticizing actors for “wanting luxury” were widely interpreted as indirect criticism aimed at Deepika. When Triptii Dimri was later announced as the lead for Spirit, the internet quickly speculated about a fallout between Deepika and the filmmaker.
Unfortunately, this unverified storyline seems to have spilled over into Kalki 2, fueling baseless rumors of professional discord between Deepika and the film’s production team. However, industry insiders have been quick to dismiss these reports, emphasizing that no casting decisions have been finalized for Kalki 2 because the project is not yet ready to move forward.
One insider shared, “They haven’t even approached actors because it’s still in the pre-production stage.” This statement reinforces the fact that all rumors about Deepika’s involvement or exclusion are premature and speculative.
Kalki 2 remains a highly anticipated sequel, with fans eagerly awaiting official updates on the cast and production schedule.
Both Deepika Padukone and Prabhas continue to be linked with the project, and the film’s makers are expected to announce details once the pre-production phase concludes.
For now, Deepika Padukone’s fans can rest assured that she is still very much a part of Kalki 2, and the swirling rumors of conflict with Prabhas or the production team are simply unfounded gossip.
