At 82, Amitabh Bachchan continues to surprise fans—this time with a series of cryptic blank tweets. The superstar’s unusual Twitter activity has left netizens puzzled and speculating about the meaning behind the silent numbers.

Even at 82, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan remains one of the most active Indian celebrities on social media, especially on Twitter (now X). While fans are used to his warm greetings, poetry, or support for fellow actors—most notably his son Abhishek Bachchan—his recent Twitter timeline has taken a bizarre turn, leaving followers both amused and confused.
Over the past few weeks, Big B has posted about 20 blank tweets. These tweets contain nothing but a number in chronological order, with no text or context. The last coherent message from him dates back to April 22, reading: “T 5355 – The silent X chromosome .. deciding the brain ..” Since then, his posts have been nothing more than a silent stream of mysterious numbers.

Naturally, fans took notice. Screenshots of his Twitter timeline began circulating online, triggering theories and humorous responses. “The mystery of the India’s speechless (tweetless?) superstar XY chromosome,” read one viral tweet. Another asked bluntly, “What he is upto?”
While some speculated that the tweets might be the result of bots or automated tools gone wrong, others offered a more tech-savvy interpretation. “I think he’s testing some tool that automates his tweets, to help him with his godforsaken numbering tweet protocol! Nothing about this makes sense,” one user wrote.
Another fan joked, “His target is to achieve 50 million ‘X’ followers. To achieve this he’s posting just numbered tweets since many days.” Interestingly, Amitabh had previously expressed frustration about his stagnant follower count. “Badi koshish kar rahe hain, lekin yeh 40 million followers ka number badh hi nahi raha hai. Koi upaya ho toh bataiye,” he had written.
This sparked a wave of amusing fan suggestions ranging from “make reels and bloopers” to “collaborate with Jaya Bachchan” or even “host a meet-and-greet on X.”
So what’s really behind the blank tweets? The answer might be less mysterious than it seems. Amitabh has long maintained a quirky habit of numbering all his tweets, almost like a digital journal. Occasionally, when he realizes he’s made an error in the sequence, he corrects it by posting blank tweets—just to maintain the proper count. It’s an oddly wholesome and meticulous routine, even if a bit peculiar.
As fans puzzle over his Twitter antics, Amitabh’s film career remains just as eventful. He was last seen in Vettaiyan, his Tamil cinema debut alongside Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and others. Up next, he stars in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. He also has Section 84 lined up, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, and co-starring Diana Penty and Nimrat Kaur.
Even without words, Amitabh Bachchan continues to trend—proving that some stars don’t need to speak to be heard.
