Comedian found unresponsive in Hollywood
Comedian Andy Dick is reportedly revived with Narcan after an apparent drug overdose on a Hollywood street Tuesday, according to photos and details shared by TMZ.
The 59-year-old is found slumped unconscious on a concrete staircase outside a building in the well-known Los Angeles neighborhood. Images show him leaning against a wall, dressed in a brown jacket, pajama pants and Crocs, with his glasses on the ground nearby.
Witnesses attempt to steady him as several acquaintances rush over. One person is heard urging him to wake up while others call for medical help.
Narcan administered at the scene
Bystanders administer a dose of Narcan, and Dick responds to the medication. He regains consciousness as members of the Los Angeles Fire Department and Police Department arrive.
Despite the emergency response, Dick declines further treatment and refuses to be taken to a hospital, TMZ reports, citing an LAFD spokesperson. He later tells the outlet he is alive and OK, without offering more detail.
Ongoing legal trouble
Dick’s public struggles continue to surface. In November 2022, he is convicted of sexual battery for grabbing an Uber driver’s crotch in April 2018. He receives a 90-day jail sentence and is ordered to register as a sex offender.
Weeks later, he is arrested for public intoxication and for failing to register as a sex offender.
His recent legal history also includes a May 2022 arrest on a felony sexual battery allegation from a man who claims Dick molested him while he slept. Prosecutors drop the case after the accuser stops cooperating.
