A routine traffic stop in Tempe, Arizona, took a surprising turn on July 4 when police officers ended up delivering a pizza to a local resident after arresting the original delivery driver for reckless driving and racing. The incident, captured on video and shared by the Tempe Police Department, quickly went viral on social media.

Viral Video Captures Customer’s Shock

The now-viral footage shows two Tempe police officers approaching a home with a pizza in hand. The customer, visibly surprised to see officers at her door instead of her expected GrubHub driver, greeted them with a stunned “Hello.” One officer confirmed the customer’s name, Brandy, before explaining the unusual situation: “So your GrubHub guy got arrested, so we still delivered your pizza.”

The customer’s jaw dropped as she processed the news, but she quickly expressed her gratitude. “I really appreciate the pizza,” she said, to which the second officer reassured her, “It still should be warm.”

Police Department Shares the Moment

The Tempe Police Department posted the video on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, using the caption: “When your GrubHub driver gets arrested… Tempe Police Delivers.” In a playful twist, the department added, “The order was Hot-N-Ready, and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady.” The post highlighted the officers’ commitment to serving the community in unexpected ways, stating, “We’re committed to serving our community 24/7—whether it’s safety or pizza delivery!”

Community Response and Department Statement

The video has garnered widespread attention and positive reactions online, with many praising the officers for going above and beyond to ensure the customer received her order.
