Actor Kartik Aaryan is set to collaborate for the first time with director Shimit Amin on the upcoming feature Captain India. Written and produced by Harman Baweja, the film will be shot in India and Morocco and is inspired by a true story.
The collaboration
Known for acclaimed titles such as Ab Tak Chhappan, Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Shimit Amin will make his return to directing with Captain India. According to production sources, Amin and Aaryan have been discussing potential projects for the past year before settling on this story.
Story and production plans
Captain India will feature Aaryan as an Air Force pilot. Amin has developed a “tight screenplay” and is preparing to begin filming between March and July 2026. Location scouting has already been completed in Morocco.
Kartik Aaryan’s current projects
Following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Aaryan is balancing commercial and varied roles. He is currently working on Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidhwans, and an untitled love story with Anurag Basu, both set for 2026 releases. He will also star in Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s Nagzilla before starting work on Captain India.
