Actor Dhanush is all set to bring one of India’s most revered personalities to life on the silver screen. He will play the iconic role of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, India’s 11th President and one of the country’s greatest scientific minds, in an upcoming biopic titled Kalam: The Missile Man of India. The announcement of the film was made at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2025, sparking widespread excitement.
The film’s title poster was unveiled during the festival and has already struck a chord with fans and critics alike. The striking monochrome poster features Dhanush as Dr. Kalam, his profile intersected by a missile — a symbolic nod to Kalam’s defining role in India’s missile development and space exploration programs. The biopic will be directed by Om Raut, who is known for his cinematic spectacles such as Tanhaji and Adipurush.
