Eric Murphy and Jasmin Page Lawrence have officially said “I do”! In a surprising reveal, comedy icon Eddie Murphy shared on The Jennifer Hudson Show that his son Eric quietly married Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin in a small, intimate ceremony.

During his appearance on the talk show on Thursday (29), Eddie Murphy, 64, shared that the wedding took place about “two weeks ago” in a private church setting, far away from the buzz and spectacle of a celebrity wedding.

“They went off, everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,” Eddie said. He humorously added, “We’re in-laws,” and joked that Lawrence, 60, now gets to skip the expenses of a large wedding.

Eric, 35, and Jasmin, 29, have been in the spotlight as a couple since they went public with their relationship in 2021. After three years of dating, Eric proposed to Jasmin in November 2024 in a romantic setting adorned with candles and roses. Jasmin said “yes” as the couple embraced in a touching moment captured on video, set to Eric Benét’s “Spend My Life With You.”

“It’s beautiful! Oh my gosh,” Jasmin exclaimed in the video before accepting the ring.

Though the pair opted for a low-key wedding with just the preacher present, Eddie noted that a bigger celebration might still be in the cards: “They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing. So I think we’ll have a big party or something.”

When Jennifer Hudson asked if he’d sing at the wedding celebration, Eddie quickly responded, “No, I ain’t singing… Martin will sing at the wedding. Yeah, that’d be funny.” He later teased he might consider a duet.

Interestingly, despite their famous dads, Jasmin once revealed that it was her uncle who introduced her to Eric, not Eddie or Martin. “My uncle actually introduced us — it wasn’t even our dads,” she told InTouch Weekly in 2022. “And they’ve done two movies together. They’re friends. I don’t even know, it’s crazy, but we met through my uncle and, you know, we became really good friends.”

As their bond grew, so did public curiosity, especially when Martin Lawrence joked in 2022 on Jimmy Kimmel Live! about trying to get Eddie to pay for their children’s wedding. To which Eddie later responded in a different interview, “That’s not how it goes… You’re paying for the wedding. If it goes down, Martin is paying.”

With their quiet union, Eric and Jasmin have not only surprised fans but also sweetly united two of the most beloved families in comedy history — all without the Hollywood fuss.
