Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja ended speculation over their marriage by celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi together. The couple welcomed Lord Ganesha into their home on Wednesday, joined by their son Yashvardhan.
The family wore coordinated outfits and smiled for paparazzi as they posed together. They also distributed sweets outside their residence, a gesture that further signalled unity.
Divorce rumours addressed
Talk of a separation had circulated since unverified reports in December claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce at Bandra Family Court. Their joint appearance, however, suggested otherwise.
Govinda’s manager later clarified to PTI that while a petition had been filed months earlier, matters are now being settled. He described the speculation as “old news”.
Family dismisses claims
The couple’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, also rejected the rumours in an interview with Hindustan Times. “It’s all rumours,” she said, adding that such stories hold no weight for their family.
Speculation had intensified earlier this year after Sunita shared an emotional vlog on her YouTube channel, which many had linked to the divorce talk.
Govinda away from the spotlight
Govinda, a leading actor in the 1990s and early 2000s, has appeared less frequently in recent years. His last film, Rangeela Raja (2019), did not fare well at the box office.
