Over 350 Indians are now billionaires with combined wealth of $2 trillion. The Hurun India Rich List 2025 has revealed some big shifts in India's billionaire rankings. Mukesh Ambani and his family have reclaimed the title of India's richest, with a total wealth of $115 billion. Gautam Adani and his family are not far behind with $98.1 billion, making it clear that the top spot is a close race between these two business tycoons.

Last year, Gautam Adani had overtaken Ambani, but this year both have seen their wealth fall. Still, Ambani has managed to return to number one.

Another major highlight is Roshni Nadar Malhotra, who has entered the top three for the first time with a net worth of about $34.2 billion, making her the richest woman in India.

The list also shows how fast India’s billionaire population is rising. The country now has more than 350 billionaires, six times more than when the list began 13 years ago. Together, they hold a combined wealth of around $2 trillion, which is nearly half of India’s GDP.

Among the new success stories are young entrepreneurs making their mark. Aravind Srinivas, 31, founder of Perplexity, has become India’s youngest billionaire with a fortune of $255 million. Even younger are Kaivalya Vohra (22) and Aadit Palicha (23), co-founders of Zepto, who also joined the billionaire club.

Another big gainer this year is Niraj Bajaj and family, whose wealth jumped by $842 million, reaching $28 billion. Meanwhile, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm, has re-entered the billionaire list with $192 million, after his company’s stock price rose by 124 per cent.

On the entertainment front, Shah Rukh Khan has made history. After winning a National Award earlier this year, he has now officially entered the billionaire club with a fortune of about $1.4 billion. This makes him the richest Bollywood star and puts him ahead of global names like Taylor Swift ($1.3 billion), Arnold Schwarzenegger ($1.2 billion), and Jerry Seinfeld ($1.2 billion).
The report also highlights the growing presence of women billionaires, with 101 women featured in the list this year, 26 of whom are worth over $1 billion.
