Indian Railway authorities were left red-faced on Sunday (19) after display screens at one of the country’s busiest railway stations started playing porn clips at peak hours.
The incident happened in Patna, the capital of the northern state of Bihar.
According to reports, the adult clip ran for about three minutes on LED screens installed on a platform at the Patna Junction railway station around 10 am local time. A number of passengers were seen recording it on their phones. Many also protested to the officials and the Railway Protection Force stopped the footage.
However, videos of the clip went viral on social media which was also flooded with memes related to the incident. Users also tagged Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and the ministry of railways.
A first-information report was also filed against the agency which is in charge of running commercials and information on the platform screens. It was also reportedly blacklisted by the railways.
The railway police were investigating the matter.
