After the Trump administration has been making changes in the immigration and H-1B policies, there have been whistleblower cases all over the United States. One such video has surfaced and gone viral, where a content creator is showing Indian H-1B visa worker Naveen Tummala in Texas, where he is running a food truck illegally while on a specialized H-1B visa.
The confrontation occurred at Texas's Golconda Xpress Indian Food Truck, where this whistleblower approached Tummala and accused him of working there and creating fraud. She claimed in the video that while his H-1B visa is sponsored by Flexera Global Inc., he is illegally presenting himself as the food truck's owner.
After a brief discussion, Indian man, Tummala, denied the allegations. He replied in a firm voice that the food truck is owned by his wife and he is just helping her after completing his shift. He also went on to mention that he generally helps his wife occasionally with technical issues.
“I am off my duty. I cannot help my wife, or what? Do you think I am getting paid for it? I know my rules. I know my rights,” Tummala said during the heated exchange. When Gonzales asked why his wife was not at the truck, he added, “Do you think the business owners are always at the businesses they own?”
He also mentioned, “You can do whatever you want. You think that's American. You guys do the same thing for everybody. Go ahead and check your backyard.”
The whistleblower Gonzales also said that she could not understand his English, while he spoke clearly understandable English in the video shared by her,. Tummala, after arguments, also asked her to apologize and leave the property. While leaving, Gonzales also threatened to report him to the authorities as she walked away.

The incident has angered the people who are 'foreigners' as per Gonzales. The comments below have been divided into Americans v/s Non-Americans. Many Non-Americans have defended him, saying he was simply helping his wife.
One user commented, “We live in a world where working hard and honestly is being questioned and punished.” Another wrote, “He's not working if he's not getting paid. It's called volunteering.”
Others pointed out the irony of questioning an Indian professional who contributes legally to the US economy. “Creating a business, paying taxes, and helping your family is being labeled a crime? This is unfair,” wrote one social media user.
Tummala has also clarified that he is a trained chef and understands the food business and hence is helping his wife and not managing day-to-day business. He also mentioned that the confrontation was unnecessary and misrepresented his work.
The video has ignited wider discussions about the H-1B visa system, the rights of Indian professionals abroad, and the challenges faced by Indian families in navigating work and entrepreneurship legally in the US.
