The mystery surrounding the character ‘Bade Sahab’ in Dhurandhar: The Revenge may have been unintentionally revealed online. A recent update on the film’s Letterboxd page has led fans to believe that actor Emraan Hashmi could be playing the much-talked-about role.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, which grossed nearly $160 million worldwide and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films ever. The sequel once again stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19.

The identity of ‘Bade Sahab,’ a shadowy and powerful figure in the film, has remained under wraps. In the recently released teaser, Ranveer’s character Hamza travels to Lyari seeking revenge after the death of Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna. The teaser hints at a larger conflict involving Major Iqbal, portrayed by Arjun Rampal, and his superior—Bade Sahab.

Until now, the filmmakers have not officially revealed who is playing the character. Online speculation ranged from fictional portrayals of notorious underworld or extremist figures to entirely new characters created for the sequel.

However, fans recently noticed that Emraan Hashmi’s name appeared in the main cast list on Letterboxd, even though no details were provided about his role. A screenshot of the listing quickly circulated on Reddit and other social media platforms, fueling speculation that Hashmi may be the face behind Bade Sahab.

The reaction online has been enthusiastic. Many fans praised the potential casting choice, calling Hashmi a strong performer capable of playing complex and layered characters. Some described the possibility as “perfect casting,” while others said they were especially excited to see him take on a powerful antagonist role.

The returning cast for the sequel includes R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, and Rakesh Bedi. New additions reportedly include Raj Zutshi and Yami Gautam, who is rumored to appear in a cameo.

If the speculation is true, Emraan Hashmi’s involvement could add a new layer of intensity to the sequel. Known for both romantic and thriller roles, he has recently taken on darker and more complex characters, making him a strong candidate for a commanding role like Bade Sahab.

The film is set to clash at the box office with Toxic, starring Yash, which releases on the same day.

For now, the makers of Dhurandhar: The Revenge have not confirmed the casting. But if the Letterboxd listing is accurate, fans may already have their answer.
