Speaking out on a persistent rumor

Kendall Jenner has responded to years of online speculation about her sexuality. Appearing on the January 9 episode of Owen Thiele’s In Your Dreams podcast, the 30-year-old model said she is aware of the internet narrative that she is a closeted lesbian and wanted to address it directly.

Jenner said what upsets her most is not the rumor itself but the tone surrounding it. She explained that the comments are often harsh rather than supportive, adding that people are rarely kind when discussing it online.

“If I was, you’d probably know”

Jenner told Thiele that if she were gay, she believes she would already be open about it. She said she understands that coming out is difficult for many people, but added that, knowing herself, she thinks she would not hide it.

She also pushed back against claims she has seen online suggesting being gay would be “bad for business,” saying she does not understand that argument.

While saying she does not currently identify as a lesbian, Jenner said she is not shutting herself off from experiences in life. She added that if she were gay, people would “probably know for real.”

Past relationships and public interest

This is not the first time Jenner’s personal life has been widely discussed. She has previously been linked to several high-profile figures, including an on-and-off relationship with Harry Styles, a two-year relationship with NBA player Devin Booker, and a more recent romance with Bad Bunny. Jenner and Bad Bunny reportedly dated on and off into fall 2024 and have remained friendly since their split.

Despite the attention, Jenner has usually kept details about her relationships private.

Choosing herself

On the podcast, Jenner said she is currently in what she called a “me” phase. She explained that much of her 20s was spent in long-term relationships, and she now wants time focused on herself.

She said that when she turned 29, she made a commitment not to shut herself off from anything that felt right, while also giving herself space to choose her own happiness. Jenner added that she wanted to “fall in love with myself again” and is comfortable being on her own.
