Malayalam superstar Mohanlal continues his box office dominance with his latest release Thudarum, which is now emerging as a major winner at the North American box office. Released to glowing reviews and a strong wave of positive word-of-mouth, Thudarum is delivering exceptional numbers across the USA and Canada, even maintaining impressive weekday earnings—something rarely seen for Malayalam films in these territories.
According to the latest reports, Thudarum grossed a remarkable $91,950 from 136 screens in North America on its first Monday (28). This brings the total reported collection in the region to an impressive $883,500.
Breaking down the numbers further, the film earned $452,400 in the USA, while Canada added $431,100, showing a robust performance on both sides of the border.
This achievement is even more significant because Thudarum has posted Monday (28) figures almost on par with Mohanlal’s previous hit L2: Empuraan, a much-hyped blockbuster directed by Prithviraj.
With this consistency, Mohanlal has once again proven his unmatched popularity and reliability as a box office draw in international markets, particularly among the Malayalam diaspora.
The film’s success is driven by a combination of factors—its emotionally rich storyline, Mohanlal’s compelling performance, and the strong connection it has built with audiences. In just five days, the film has collected around $4.56 million in India, placing it among the top Malayalam box office successes of 2025. Its strong word-of-mouth, aided by Mohanlal’s star power, is expected to drive continued momentum through the second weekend.
