L2: Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to Lucifer, has hit theaters, and fans have shared their thoughts on social media. While many praised Mohanlal’s grand entry and action sequences, some criticized the film’s writing, calling it an "average revenge story."
A fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "Well-paced stylish entertainer with fanboy moments. The storyline is baked in drama, politics, and current affairs. Bang on entry for Mohanlal after an hour with peak commercial elevation. Hollywood-level visuals & stunts." Another added, “Empuraan Good One. Lal saab’s intro and jungle fight scene were peak cinematic experiences.”
However, some viewers felt the film didn’t live up to expectations. One tweet read, "Empuraan had all the chances to be a benchmark film but failed miserably with poor writing. Even the stylised making of Prithvi wasn’t enough for the rescue." Others pointed out that the film lacked Malayalam nativity due to its heavy use of Hindi and English.
Despite mixed reactions, fans were impressed by the film’s production quality, action sequences, and performances. L2: Empuraan features Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab’raam, alongside Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier. Released in multiple languages, the film continues the socio-political narrative of Lucifer, with Prithviraj Sukumaran directing and Murali Gopy scripting.
