The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Sunday directed the Centre to extend India's  nationwide coronavirus lockdown till May 31.The statement issued by the government of India's National Disaster Management Authority says clarifications and guidelines will be announced by the National Executive Committee.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has asked the ministries and departments of Government of India, state governments and state authorities to continue with lockdown measures up to May 31, 2020.
Lockdown 4.0 is likely to see more relaxations than previous lockdowns. Road transport and air are expected to get some relaxation.

India's prime minister Narendra Modi on Friday (15) pledged to make India self-reliant in energy, fertilizers, and strategic technologies, and to defend the interests of farmers “like a wall,” as the country faces trade pressure and tariff threats from the United States.
Delivering his annual Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Modi called self-reliance “the foundation of a developed India” and warned against overdependence on other nations. “Freedom becomes meaningless if someone becomes too dependent on others,” he said after military helicopters flew past, scattering flower petals over the crowd.

The research, published in the journal Sociological Bulletin, defines internal diaspora as members of a linguistic group living in Indian states other than their “core” language state, while international diaspora refers to those living abroad.

A recent study by Chinmay Tumbe, faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), has revealed that among India’s major language groups, Malayalam and Tamil speakers have a larger international diaspora than internal (domestic) diaspora. This trend sets them apart from other major linguistic communities, where internal migration far outweighs overseas settlement.
