Released in 2007, Chak De! India starred Shah Rukh Khan as Kabir Khan, a former hockey player who coaches the Indian women's national hockey team. The film became one of the most recognized sports dramas in Hindi cinema.
Dhupia did not disclose which character she was offered in the film or explain why she decided against taking the role. However, her recollection highlighted how career decisions can take on a different meaning with time.
As she reflected on the opportunities, the actor acknowledged the feeling of looking back and wondering what might have happened had she made a different choice.

Along with Chak De! India, Dhupia also mentioned turning down Operation Safed Sagar, another project she associated with her interest in military films.
She did not share further details about the role or the circumstances behind her decision. Her comments instead focused on the broader experience of missing out on projects that aligned with the kind of work she wanted to do.
“You realise what you may have missed,” she said while reflecting on those choices.
Dhupia was most recently seen in the series Single Papa, where she appeared as Romilla Nehra in the first episode.
