Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (13) visited Una in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh which is set to go to polls in December.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader received a warm welcome amid huge fanfare and his supporters were seen chanting "Dekho Dekho Kaun Aaya, Sher Aya, Sher Aya" (Look, the tiger has come) slogans.
They also chanted "Modi, Modi" and "Jai Shri Ram" (Hail Lord Rama).
A video of the welcome became viral on social media and Modi was seen greeting the crowd cheerfully.
During his visit, Modi flagged off the elite Vande Bharat Express connecting the state with New Delhi; besides dedicating Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and laid the foundation stone of Bulk Drug Park.

A few weeks ago, Modi flagged off a Vande Bharat Express connecting Gandhinagar in Gujarat, which is also due to go to polls along with Himachal, with Mumbai, India's financial capital. They are the third and the fourth elite trains that have been started in recent times.
The prime minister also took a short train ride and was seen waving at people from the train.
Himachal Pradesh has been under the rule of Modi's BJP since 2017.
