A major accident disrupted the filming of Ram Charan’s debut production The India House on Wednesday (11), when a massive water tank burst unexpectedly on the film set near Shamshabad, Telangana. The incident led to sudden flooding, injuring crew members and causing extensive damage to equipment and set materials.
The film, starring Nikhil Siddhartha and veteran actor Anupam Kher, is a period drama that has generated significant buzz. The accident occurred during the shooting of a high-stakes sea-themed sequence that involved elaborate water setups.

Assistant Cameraman Seriously Injured
One of the crew members, an assistant cameraman, sustained serious injuries in the incident. Several others suffered minor injuries as water gushed across the set without warning. A video from the location, now going viral on social media, shows the crew struggling to wade through the rapidly flooded area, attempting to protect expensive filming gear and set designs from the rising water.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and chaos, with production members trying to evacuate and control the situation. Emergency medical assistance was reportedly provided to the injured on-site.
Actor Presence Unconfirmed, Police Yet to Be Notified
It is currently unclear whether lead actor Nikhil Siddhartha or any of the key cast members were present when the incident took place. Interestingly, local authorities stated that they had not received an official complaint regarding the accident as of Thursday morning.
Shamshabad police noted that while they were aware of the situation through circulating videos, no formal report had been filed by the production team. This raises concerns about the communication and safety protocols followed during such high-risk shoots.
Ram Charan’s Production House Faces Setback
The India House marks the first production under Ram Charan’s newly launched banner. The film was officially announced in 2023 on the 140th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar and is being helmed by debutant director Ram Vamsi Krishna.
Despite the anticipation surrounding its release—fueled by its patriotic themes, high-profile cast, and visually rich teasers—the production now faces an unexpected hurdle. The makers have not yet issued an official statement regarding the accident or the status of rescheduling shoots.
Safety Questions Loom as Production Paused
The accident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of on-location film shoots, especially when large-scale props like water tanks are involved. Industry insiders and fans alike are urging stricter safety measures and clear accountability to prevent such incidents in future.
As the injured recover and the damage is assessed, hopes remain high that The India House will resume filming under safer conditions and that the crew will heal swiftly.
