IN a shocking incident, a Spanish tourist who is on a motorcycle trip to India with her husband, was allegedly gangraped in Dumka district of the eastern state of Jharkhand, police sources said on Saturday (2).
According to reports, the disturbing incident happened on Friday (1) night in the district’s Hansdiha area when the foreigner couple stopped at a deserted place to spend the night in a makeshift tent.
Three persons were arrested in connection to the crime, the police added.
The tourists were on their way to Bhagalpur in the neighbouring state of Bihar and had stopped near Hansdiha market to spend the night.

They reportedly reached Jharkhand from Bangladesh on their vehicle and were going to Nepal via Bihar.

The couple were also allegedly beaten by the men who allegedly raped the wife.
The victim is currently undergoing medical tests at a hospital in Dumka. Further probe was underway, the police said.
