The French Open is still a month away but Spanish teenage star Carlos Alcaraz has already set his eyes on Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the year.

Alcaraz, the winner of the US Open last year to lost his No.1 ranking to Novak Djokovic earlier in April, has made no secrets that while he wants to win the trophy at Roland Garros, he is also eyeing the coveted crown at Wimbledon, which Djokovic has won seven times, including in the last two years, the Daily Express reported.

It also said that the youngster is also using a boxing analogy to inspire him to register success at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz’s best show at the Wimbledon came last year when he reached the fourth round where he lost to Italy’s Jannik Sinner in a four-seat affair.

In September last year, the Spaniard became the first teenage Grand Slam champion since compatriot Rafael Nadal in 2005 and the ATP’s youngest world No.1 after clinching the US Open.

Alcaraz, who is known for his tireless pursuits in marathon matches, has said that it is a “very, very good goal” to win the French Open and is now looking ahead in Wimbledon, where he is hoping to make use of a boxing mentality to win the Grand Slam title on the grass court.

This year, the Wimbledon will kick off on July 3 and continue till July 16. The French Open will be played between May 28 and June 11.
