Gang rivalry among Indian-origin groups in Canada has intensified after Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon was shot in an alleged attack carried out by the Rohit Godara gang. Gang rivalry among Indian-origin groups in Canada has intensified after Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon was shot in an alleged attack carried out by the Rohit Godara gang. The incident, reportedly occurring in Canada, has been followed by a chilling online warning to the singer and others accused of supporting rival groups. “We carried out the shooting in Canada at Teji Kahlon. He was shot in the stomach. If he understands, fine. If not, next time we will finish him.”

The gang's post accused the singer of providing weapons and financial support to rival gangs, as well as acting as an informant against the Godara network. The message extended beyond Kahlon, warning businessmen, builders, and intermediaries against collaborating with rival groups. “If anyone, even by mistake, supports our enemies or helps them in any way, we will not spare their families. We’ll destroy them. This is a warning to all brothers, businessmen, builders, hawala operators, and whoever else,” the post read, concluding with, “This is just the beginning. Watch what happens next.”

The post marks yet another violent escalation in the ongoing India-linked gang wars that have spread across North America. The incident follows the recent shooting of Hari Boxer, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in the US. Rohit Godara had previously claimed responsibility for that attack as well, stating that he and fellow gangster Goldy Brar orchestrated the shooting in California, which left one of Boxer's associates dead and another critically injured.

The social media feud between Rohit Godara and Lawrence Bishnoi has grown increasingly hostile. Last month, Godara accused Bishnoi of betraying the gang network by cooperating with an American agency to save his brother, Anmol Bishnoi. In his unverified posts, Godara alleged that Bishnoi was leaking intelligence to the U.S. authorities and using the publicity from threats against actor Salman Khan to build his own notoriety.

Both Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar remain wanted by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) and several state police departments. Investigators believe Goldy Brar is hiding in the United States, while Godara is reportedly operating from the United Kingdom. Lawrence Bishnoi, meanwhile, remains lodged in a high-security jail in Gujarat.

The shooting of Teji Kahlon underscores how India’s domestic gang rivalries continue to spill over into foreign territories like Canada and the U.S., where networks tied to Punjabi-origin criminals are expanding their reach, often using social media for public threats and claims of responsibility.
