A massive fire ravaged the main stage of the renowned Tomorrowland festival in Belgium just two days before the event was scheduled to begin. Footage captured flames and thick black smoke consuming the elaborate structure and spreading to nearby woodland, shocking fans and organizers alike.

Tomorrowland: Europe’s Premier Dance Music Festival


Held annually in the town of Boom, north of Brussels, Tomorrowland is one of Europe’s largest and most celebrated dance music festivals, attracting around 400,000 attendees across two weekends. The event is famous for its immersive and spectacular stage designs, drawing world-class artists such as David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Alok, as well as Dutch DJs Martin Garrix and Charlotte de Witte—all slated to perform this year.

“Orbyz” — A Magical Ice-Themed Spectacle Lost to Flames

The destroyed main stage was part of the festival’s 2025 theme named Orbyz, described on Tomorrowland’s website as a “magical universe made entirely out of ice” and inhabited by mythical creatures. Years of creative effort and passion went into building this visually stunning centerpiece, making the loss particularly heartbreaking for the organisers and fans.

Organizers Express Devastation but Confirm No Injuries

Spokesperson Debby Wilmsen confirmed that no one was injured in the incident but expressed deep sadness over the destruction of the stage. She highlighted the emotional and practical impact, stating, “That’s a stage that took years to build, with so much love and passion. So I think a lot of people are devastated.”

 

Festival to Proceed, DreamVille Camp Still Open

Despite the tragedy, Tomorrowland officials confirmed that the festival will proceed as planned, with around 38,000 festivalgoers expected to arrive at DreamVille, the festival’s official campsite. Organizers are reportedly working tirelessly to manage the aftermath and ensure the event’s success despite the setback.
