Donald Trump places significant importance on the relationship between the United States and India, according to Sergio Gor. His remarks came after a meeting with the US President at the White House on Tuesday (31).

Sharing details of the meeting on X, Gor emphasized the President’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. “Back in the U.S. for a few days. First stop, meeting with our GREAT President in the White House. The President deeply cares about the relationship between the U.S. and India,” he wrote.


Gor also shared a photograph from the meeting, showing himself alongside Trump and Marco Rubio in the Oval Office.

The meeting highlights the continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries and underscores the importance placed on U.S.-India relations at the highest levels of leadership.

Sergio Gor assumed office as the US Ambassador to India in January 2026. Before this role, he served as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. In addition to his ambassadorial responsibilities, Gor also holds the position of US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

His recent interaction with president Trump signals ongoing coordination and communication between Washington and New Delhi on key strategic matters.
