Shaun Weiss steps in with detox and treatment offer
Just days after a video of former child actor tylor chase surfaced online, raising concerns about his well-being, his former co-stars have begun mobilizing help. The clip, which shows Chase appearing homeless on the streets of California, quickly spread across social media and prompted an outpouring of concern from fans and industry peers alike.
Shaun Weiss, best known for The Mighty Ducks, publicly offered assistance, saying he had arranged a bed for Chase at a detox facility and identified options for long-term treatment. In a message shared with fans, Weiss urged people to contact him directly so help could be coordinated quickly, particularly with the holidays approaching.
Weiss has previously spoken openly about his own struggles with homelessness and addiction. On an April episode of Pod Meets World, he said his recovery was made possible by sustained support from people committed to helping him get clean.

Daniel Curtis Lee, who played Cookie on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, also shared updates on his efforts to help chase. According to Lee, although Weiss initially managed to get Chase admitted to a hospital, Chase later decided not to stay.
The following day, Lee met Chase in person and documented the encounter on social media. The video shows Lee helping him off a sidewalk, driving him to a pizza shop for lunch, and later arranging a hotel room nearby. Lee also encouraged him to consider entering rehab.
During the visit, Lee connected Chase on a video call with another former co-star, Devon Werkheiser, who played the lead role of Ned. Lee later said the priority was offering care and stability, even if only temporarily.
Looking ahead: Rehab and financial safeguards
In a separate update, Lee outlined longer-term plans to help chase recover. He said he is seeking a rehab or recovery facility willing to accept chase on a scholarship basis and is consulting a financial advisor about creating a trust that would release funds only after successful completion of a treatment program.
Lee emphasized the need for a structured and supportive approach, adding that previous fundraising efforts on GoFundMe were removed by Chase’s mother, who has said her son is unable to manage his own finances.
As concern continues to build online, the response from Chase’s former co-stars highlights how old professional bonds are now translating into real-world efforts to help him get back on his feet.
