Days after the horrific incident in Delhi where a young woman died after being dragged by a car for a long distance late in the night, a similar incident was witnessed in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru, though it did not end in any death and happened in broad daylight.
It all happened on the busy Magadi Road in the country’s IT capital when a 71-year-old man was found being dragged by a speeding scooterist and it went viral on social media.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Muttappa, was in a car which collided with the two-wheeler. Sahil, the man who was riding it, tried to flee the spot when Muttappa got off his vehicle to confront him. When the elderly man tried to grab on to the two-wheeler, Sahil, 25, did not stop and as a result, he was being dragged for some distance.
“The reason is accidental touch between the two wheeler and the Bolero,” Laxman Nirbargi, a top police officer from the city, told NDTV.
People who saw the bizarre scene on the road chased the scooter and eventually he was stopped. Sahil was arrested and was taken to a local police station and a case was registered.
Muttappa suffered a few scratches.
