Amid rising geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films, in collaboration with The Content Engineer, has officially announced a gripping new war drama titled Operation Sindoor.
Drawing directly from real-life military events, the film is inspired by the Indian Army’s swift and strategic response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
This bold cinematic project is directed by Uttam Maheshwari and promises to capture the emotional and patriotic spirit of one of India’s most recent military operations.
The first poster of Operation Sindoor was unveiled on social media, sparking widespread interest. It features a powerful visual of a female soldier, seen from behind, standing tall in uniform with a rifle slung over her shoulder. In a striking moment, she is seen applying sindoor (vermilion) to the parting of her hair—symbolizing both her identity as a woman and a warrior.

The background of the poster is intense and evocative, filled with images of tanks, barbed wire fences, and fighter jets slicing through the sky, creating a vivid tableau of national defense and resilience.
The title design adds to the emotional impact—the word Sindoor is stylized with the second ‘O’ replaced by a smear of vermillion, underscoring the sacred symbolism of the term.
Traditionally used by Hindu married women, sindoor also holds significance as a tilak worn by warriors before battle. The phrase “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, etched in tricolour, further heightens the nationalistic fervour of the visual.
The film is based on the covert military mission codenamed Operation Sindoor, carried out by the Indian Armed Forces during the night of May 6 and 7.
In retaliation to the heinous Pahalgam attack, which reportedly targeted Hindu men—some of whom were newly married—Indian forces neutralised nine terror bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), eliminating multiple militants.
The film’s title, Operation Sindoor, not only denotes strategic brilliance but also mourns the personal and symbolic losses inflicted by terrorism. By combining the themes of sacrifice, womanhood, and warfare, the film is expected to provide both a cinematic thrill and a deep emotional connection to recent national events.
While the cast is yet to be officially revealed, the announcement has generated strong interest, especially given the production house’s past success.
Nicky and Vicky Bhagnani’s last venture, Nikita Roy, a psychological thriller featuring Sonakshi Sinha and directed by Kussh S Sinha, is also set to hit theatres globally on May 30.
As anticipation builds, Operation Sindoor stands out not just as a film about war, but a story about identity, loss, courage, and the human cost of conflict.
