On the occasion of Earth Day 2025, over 30 celebrated musicians from around the world, including Indian pop star Armaan Malik and Indian-American artist Raveena, have joined Sounds Right, a unique global initiative by the UN that gives “nature” a voice—and official credit—as a musical artist.

This groundbreaking campaign aims to raise awareness and generate funds for conservation efforts by integrating real sounds of nature—birds, rainforests, oceans, and more—into original music, turning streaming into action.

Armaan Malik contributes the powerful track What In The World (feat. NATURE), a pop-rock anthem that urges listeners to reflect on humanity’s connection with the environment. Initially performed during the pandemic as part of Billboard’s Live At-Home series, the song now finds a renewed purpose through its official release in this campaign.

Malik, who gained global recognition with his English debut Control, calls the collaboration a “call to pause, reflect, and reconnect.” He describes the track as one that begins softly but builds in intensity, mirroring the growing urgency of environmental crises while keeping hope alive for positive change.

Echoing the campaign’s message, Armaan stated, “Nature is speaking—we just have to listen. ‘What In The World’ explores our impact on the planet and the urgent need to change, but with hope that we still can.”

Joining Malik in this meaningful collaboration is Raveena, known for her soulful vocals and meditative soundscapes. Her track Morning Prayer (feat. NATURE) is a tranquil, spiritual composition inspired by a moment of stillness and light during a rainy forest meditation. Drawing from her Sikh Punjabi heritage and deep bond with nature, Raveena merges ambient tones with natural field recordings, crafting a song that radiates healing and reflection. She will showcase this track during her upcoming US tour, which kicks off on April 30.

Raveena shared that the inspiration behind Morning Prayer came during a nature retreat with her collaborator Jenn. A rain-soaked meditation session sparked the instrumental, layered with live nature sounds captured on-site. “I was so inspired by the beauty of the moment,” she said. “This track felt destined for the Sounds Right Earth Day series.”

Sounds Right has already reached millions globally, making nature a recognized musical collaborator and generating funding for crucial environmental work. Since its launch, the initiative has amassed 130 million listeners and pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars to conservation projects, particularly in biodiversity hotspots like the Tropical Andes and forest corridors in Colombia. In 2025, it plans to expand support to the Amazon and Congo Basins.

Tracks from Malik, Raveena, and other contributors—including GRAMMY winners and global artists like Yann Tiersen, SYML, Steve Angello, and Rozzi—are available on Spotify under the NATURE’s Collaborations playlist.

Led by the UN’s Museum for the United Nations – UN Live, Sounds Right transforms passive listening into active conservation, blending music, storytelling, and environmental activism to connect people around the world with the sounds—and needs—of our planet.
