A first for Discord

Discord introduces Checkpoint, its first personalised end-of-year wrap-up, rolling out from December 4, 2025. The feature celebrates Discord’s 10th anniversary by summarising users’ activity throughout the year. While the company has not confirmed whether Checkpoint will return annually, it says plans for 2026 are “still unfolding.”

Checkpoint functions like Spotify Wrapped but for gaming habits. Users can see how many hours they spent in voice chats, which friends they talked to most, their favourite servers, most-used emojis, and most frequently played games. For example, one user reported playing 139 sessions of Dota 2 in 2025.

Who can see their Checkpoint

The wrap-up is available to users who were active on Discord in 2025 and have allowed the app to “use data to personalise [their] Discord experience” in privacy settings. New users or those with limited activity will not receive a Checkpoint because there isn’t enough data to compile their stats.

How to access your Discord Checkpoint

Users will receive a pop-up notification in the app directing them to their Checkpoint on desktop and mobile. On desktop, it can also be accessed by clicking the flag icon in the top-right corner. On mobile, users should tap the “You” icon at the bottom right, then select the green Checkpoint banner.

If the feature isn’t appearing, users should ensure the app is updated. Desktop Discord typically updates on restart, while mobile may require a manual update via the app store.

Temporary profile frame and sharing

Viewing a Checkpoint grants a decorative frame for the user’s profile picture, which will remain until January 15, 2026. Even users without a Checkpoint can access the frame by attempting to view it. Checkpoints can be shared directly on Discord or via screenshots on other platforms.

Global stats from Discord users

Discord also shared top-level global trends from its 200 million monthly active users. League of Legends was the most popular game, while co-op survival horror R.E.P.O. topped indie game charts. The most-used emoji was the red heart (2.18 billion uses), followed by the sobbing emoji (1.71 billion).
