On July 30, Emirates Flight Catering broke ground on a new AED 160 million ($44 million) facility at Dubai Investment Park, expanding its laundry arm, Linencraft.

The project adds 400 new jobs to meet rising demand across the UAE’s hospitality, aviation, and healthcare sectors. The advanced facility increases Linencraft’s capacity by over 50%, allowing it to onboard 40 new hospitality clients.

The facility integrates next-gen equipment with advanced automation to boost efficiency, reduce manual handling, and deliver high-volume output consistently. The facility features built-in redundancies across key processes to ensure uninterrupted operations, even during peak periods. It also incorporates energy-efficient systems to lower its environmental footprint. Overall, it promotes the values of resilience and scalability.

This expansion comes at a pivotal time. As Dubai prepares to add more than 10,000 hotel rooms by 2027 and expand its airport, the commercial laundry sector is bracing for a significant surge in demand. At the same time, more public and private institutions also need reliable laundry support.

Linencraft, a wholly owned subsidiary of Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC), is the UAE’s largest commercial laundry provider. It serves over 100 clients across sectors such as aviation, hospitality, healthcare, and institutions, operating with a workforce of 1,300.

Linencraft has long set the benchmark for quality and reliability in the UAE’s laundry sector. This bold investment reflects both the market opportunity and our intent to lead the industry forward. We're not just expanding capacity—we’re redefining standards through smart technology and a strong sustainability focus,” said Shahreyar Nawabi, CEO of Emirates Flight Catering.

The facility houses two modular bulk laundry units for hospitality, together handling 142 tons per day—substantially boosting Linencraft’s current capacity of 280 tons spread across four sites.

It also features a dedicated garment plant capable of processing over 28,000 pieces per day.
