The last Republic of Korea (ROK)-India Dialogue on Disarmament and Non-proliferation was held on March 31, 2022.

INDIA on Friday (26) engaged in discussions with South Korea on disarmament and non-proliferation in Seoul, its ministry of external affairs (MEA) said. The talks were centered around disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological domains.
The Indian side at the talks was led by Muanpuii Saiawi, joint secretary for disarmament and international security affairs in the MEA, while the South Korean team was under the stewardship of Youn Jong-kwon, director-general for nonproliferation and nuclear affairs at the Korean ministry of foreign affairs.

The discussions also included regional non-proliferation issues, outer space security- related matters, conventional weapons including AI in the military domain and multilateral export control regimes, the MEA said in a release.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, the officials spoke about regional and global challenges to disarmament and non-proliferation and that included North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes and the implementation of sanctions by the United Nations Security Council.
The third India-Korea talks on disarmament and non-proliferation was held in March 2022.
