US Vice President JD Vance arrived in India today on his first official visit, accompanied by his wife Usha Vance and their three children — Ewan, Blake, and Mirabel. The Vance family was warmly received at the Palam Technical Airport in Delhi, where Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw welcomed them with a tri-services ceremonial guard of honour.
What caught everyone’s attention was the Vance children’s delightful Indian ethnic attire. The two boys, Ewan and Blake, wore traditional kurta pyjamas in blue and yellow respectively, while their younger sister Mirabel charmed onlookers in a lovely anarkali suit. The family’s gesture of embracing Indian culture on arrival was widely appreciated on social media and news platforms.
As the family disembarked from the aircraft, the eldest son Ewan was seen walking down the stairs independently, followed by Blake. Three-year-old Mirabel, accompanied by a staff member, walked slowly before being lifted by her father. After regrouping on the tarmac, the family met and exchanged greetings with Minister Vaishnaw.
JD Vance is leading a five-member official delegation on his India visit, which includes senior representatives from both the Pentagon and the US State Department. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to host a formal dinner for the Vance family following bilateral talks scheduled for later today. The two leaders are expected to discuss strategic cooperation, trade, and investment, reinforcing the growing ties between India and the United States.
