JIM CARREY has expressed openness to reprising his role as Stanley Ipkiss in the iconic 1994 film “The Mask”, but only if the right idea comes along.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Carrey said, “Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea. If somebody had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about the money. I joke about the money… But I never know. You can’t be definite about these things.”

Directed by Chuck Russell, “The Mask” centres on a meek bank clerk who gains superhero-like powers after donning a magical mask. The film also featured Cameron Diaz and Peter Greene in key roles and became one of Carrey’s most memorable performances.

Carrey acknowledged his evolving stance on projects, noting, “I said I’d like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power-resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with and stuff, it just — things tend to change.”

Known for hits like “Liar Liar”, “Bruce Almighty”, and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, Carrey has been selective in recent years. He will next appear as Doctor Eggman in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”.
