Actress Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi have become parents after adopting a baby girl. The couple confirmed the news in a joint Instagram statement, calling it a “beautiful next chapter of parenthood”.
Announcement on Instagram
Sharing their update on Thursday, Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, wrote: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”
Brown’s wish to start a family
Earlier this year, Brown had spoken about wanting to start a family at a young age, drawing inspiration from her own parents. Appearing on the SmartLess podcast in March, she explained: “My mum actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. This has been my thing since before I met Jake. I wanted to be a mum just like the way my mum was to me.”
Bongiovi’s support and views on adoption
Brown also highlighted her husband’s support, saying family was “so important” to both of them. She added that adoption was always something she had considered: “For me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different as adopting. My home is full of love for anyone and anything.”
Relationship timeline
The couple married in a private ceremony in May 2024, followed by a celebration in Italy later that year. They had announced their engagement in April 2023 after two years of dating. Their relationship became public in June 2021, with confirmation on Instagram that November. They made their first red carpet appearance together at the BAFTA Awards in London in March 2022.
